I must say, I become kind of overwhelmed lately by so many things. This affects my creativity and also taken my spare time to blog...hopefully, things will sort out right and blogging could be done more frequently :)

Old time fun

It's been quite long since last time I made clay crafts.
I always have great time crafting with clay. My first encounter with clay is when I was at kindergarten. It was simple clay, easy hardened with cool air, must be warmed again to remodeled.

When I was in university, I begun to use jumping clay. It is soft and light weighted kind of clay. Once the model finished, the structured resembled sponge. Then, when I graduated and start to work, I made clay from flour (yep...same flour used to make cookies) mixed it with white glue until it become a dough (by the way, it's not edible). For those of you who like to decorate cakes, when it's almost the same with fondant dough (now, that's edible).

Now, I'm experimenting with this clay I bought from bookstore. The texture is almost same with jumping clay, except jumping clay already in colors, while this clay (it's called keramiplast) is in plain white. They have it in brown color also, but I prefer white one. I mix it with color paste and voila....

 For comparison, the coin has diameter for 2,2 centimeter. The flowers are made of keramiplast clay, the leaves are from flour clay

The pink flower is made of keramiplast, the other three made of flour clay.

 The strawberries are made of flour clay.

No need to bake the clay, after you modeled it, just leave it in cool air. It will be hardened in couple of hours. Great activity to spend time, also no limitation to explore your creative ideas. 

Triplet Pearl Bracelet

I've made series of triplets bracelet. Two of them already shown couple of weeks a go. Now, this is the latest in triplet collection. The last two were made of japan glass beads and Swarovski xilion beads crystal. This one is made of japan glass beads and fresh water pearl.

What a hot week, friends... We all sweating even in air conditioned room. Perhaps we already left rainy season and now we must welcome dry season. I drank more than 2 liters of water everyday because of the heat.

I used three strings, each is 15 centimeter in length, filled it with Japan Glass beads and put Swarovski xilion beads between the Japan Glass beads to add accent and sparks. So shiny at the sun light of this hot days...

Crystal Fun Earring

Ola...For some Indonesian, this is a long weekend. Yup..four days in a row with no need to go to office. We have public holiday in Tuesday and this make some offices take policy of making Monday as holiday also. For those whose office doesn't have that policy, well they could take personal leave as long as no works or meetings or other things (you know how Monday agenda in office could be...) chase them in urgency.

Why did I mentioned this bracelet has the longest process of making? Well, it took me for about more than 6 hours to attached more than one dozen of Swarovski Xilion beads 6 mm and almost 200 pieces of Swarovski Xilion beads 5 mm by hand all by my self to the steel chain. But, the hardwork paid off...I love the result. What a lovely weekend to spend by admiring the glow, shine, sparks of  it.

sunny Sunday

Jakarta was forecast to have heavy rain this weekend, but today we have a bright sunny Sunday. I guess the sun chases all the heavy clouds away and leave us with nothing but the bright light...It's really a perfect day, since we have lunch with my hubby's best friends and in the afternoon, we will attend wedding reception of our colleague.

The lunch is to celebrate one of my hubby best friend's birthday. Even tough now everyone is busy with our own work, it is important to keep in touch and meet to have a chat with our friends.

Earring

Today is national holiday in Indonesia and I'm not doing many activities to fill in the  day.

I've made this new line of my jewellery design, it's an earring. It is funny, I made necklaces, bracelets, anklets (occasionally), rings (rarely), but never an earring. And you know what, it's tragic because I never even want to leave my home or apartment without my earrings, well except if I go for mourning then no jewellery would be worn. 

I've been attached to earrings since kid. My parents gave my first earrings set when I'm about one or two years old, and according to my mom, I made a lot of struggles when technician do ear piercing to my ears (which babies wouldn't struggle anyway when they have their ears pierced?) My parents must took me for a long walk after the technician managed to pierced one of my ear, because I refused him to pierce the other one... phiufff....then when we came back to the technician, well...all hell broke, oy... Anyway, now I'm grown with one piercing on each of my ear.

I took a look at Wikipedia to know a little about this jewellery, it is said that not only women wears earring in the old days. In Persepolis ancient Persia, some archaeologist managed to found some evidence that soldiers of Persia empire do wear earring. Even in bible, when Moses on Mount Sinai, Israelites demanded Aaron to made God for them. In order for him to comply their request, he ask Israelites to bring their sons and daughtes' pieces of jewelleries include earring. Then during English renaissance era, earrings become popular among courtiers and gentlemen. So, earrings also made a popular choice of jewellery not just for women, but also men in the old days.

designer's block?

Happy new year everyone...

I'm having a little of designer's block on last Sunday :(
After sacrificing several stoppers, meters of string, and some grumps, I managed to finish one string necklace made of several 5 mm and 8 mm Swarovsky crystals in crystal color and Japan glass beads on Tuesday, also one nearly finished bracelet. I will have it photographed by professional photographer and upload it after finished.
